Search ICE Detainee Locator Releases

To find someone released from ICE custody after a Boise County arrest or transfer, use the Online Detainee Locator System with exact identity information. ODLS is not a county jail roster, and no ICE detention facility or current ICE housing contract was established in Boise County. Its public scope includes current ICE custody and a limited period after release from ICE custody. A missing result does not prove community release, removal, or lack of detention. Trace the local handoff first, use the precise search inputs ICE requires, and describe only the custody event that the source actually establishes.

ICE Releases for Boise County

ICE is a federal immigration custodian, not a Boise County detention facility. Research did not establish a local ICE facility or current contract. A Boise County or Ada County Jail record may still show a release to ICE. That entry proves the local jail transferred custody to the named agency. It does not prove removal, community release, or the later result of immigration proceedings.

Release from ICE custody is also a system-specific event. The person may enter the community under immigration conditions, transfer to another authority, or leave the country through a separate process. ODLS does not supply a full historical custody narrative. Preserve wording such as “released from ICE custody” and seek the receiving or destination record when more is required.

Important: ODLS covers current ICE custody and releases from ICE custody during the prior 60 days. Absence outside that window proves no outcome.

Search ICE Custody Records

The Online Detainee Locator System has two identity routes. The strongest uses the nine-digit A-number and country of birth. If the A-number has fewer than nine digits, add leading zeroes. The name route requires exact first and last name plus country of birth, with date of birth as an optional narrowing field.

  1. Choose A-number or biographical search.
  2. Enter the nine-digit A-number and country of birth, or exact first and last name with country.
  3. Add date of birth when using the name route if it helps distinguish matches.
  4. Review the returned ICE custody or release information without broadening its meaning.
  5. Record the search time, inputs, exact wording, and source URL.

ODLS excludes children under 18. Spelling, order of names, country selection, a short post-release window, or noncoverage can all cause no result. Retry only with verified official identity information. Do not use a commercial people search to manufacture a match.

ICE Locator Help

When exact inputs produce no usable result, ICE's Detention Reporting and Information Line can provide basic help within its scope. The line is 888-351-4024, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern. Have the A-number, full name, date of birth, country of birth, and local transfer information ready.

The call does not replace the local movement record. If Ada County Jail physically released the person to ICE, request Ada's chronological custody and release entries, including the effective time and receiving agency. Boise County may hold the arrest and transport record. These records establish the handoff even when ODLS later stops returning a result.

Read ICE Release Results

An ODLS result is evidence within ICE's own custody system. A current result can identify where to direct custody questions. A recent released result establishes that ICE recorded the end of its custody during the covered period. It does not certify whether the person entered the Boise County community, transferred, departed, or remains subject to immigration proceedings.

ResultSafe conclusion
Current ICE custodyICE reports the person within its detention system.
Released within 60 daysICE reports its custody ended within the limited window.
No resultIdentity, timing, age, or coverage may prevent a match.
Local “released to ICE” entryThe jail transferred the person to ICE at that event.

Never infer removal from a missing ODLS record. Never infer community return from the word “released.” Use the exact custodian and event date in any verification note.

Trace a Boise ICE Transfer

A Boise County arrest may lead to physical booking at Ada County Jail under the county's housing arrangement. Start with Boise County Sheriff's Office to identify where the person went. Then ask Ada for its movement record if Ada booked the person. A destination field naming ICE is stronger evidence of the handoff than roster disappearance.

A court docket can explain the local criminal case but not the later immigration outcome. Likewise, IDOC and BOP searches answer state and federal prison custody, not ICE detention. Keep each source in a separate custody timeline: Boise arrest, Ada booking, release to ICE, ICE status, and any later event that an official record supports.

If the person was never booked by Ada, Boise County may hold the only local custody trail. A no-record response from one office should lead to the named receiving agency, not a conclusion that the transfer never occurred.

ICE Locator Scope Limits

The 60-day release window is short by design. A person released from ICE custody more than 60 days ago may disappear from the public result even though the event occurred. Exact identity is also critical. An incorrect country of birth or name order can suppress a match, while an A-number should be normalized to nine digits.

ODLS is not a release archive, court docket, removal-status database, or list of all people with immigration matters. It excludes minors. It also does not document every prior transfer or destination. These boundaries make the local release record essential when the question begins with a Boise County jail episode.

No successful ICE screenshot exists in the project manifest, so no image is used. The failed capture is not evidence about the live locator. Use the official ODLS link and verify its current interface directly.

ICE Versus Other Custodians

A current Ada roster result concerns county jail custody. An IDOC result concerns Idaho prison or felony supervision. A BOP result concerns federal prison custody. ODLS concerns ICE. One system's release can be another system's admission.

For a federal criminal defendant, a USMS transfer may precede BOP designation and does not automatically imply ICE involvement. For a state prisoner, an IDOC detainer comment can identify another authority, but later confirmation must come from that recipient. For every branch, compare strong identifiers and do not merge same-name records.

Create a custody timeline when more than one system appears. List the local arrest, physical booking agency, release or transfer time, receiving authority, and later ICE event as separate entries. Attach each fact to its source and timestamp. This method exposes gaps rather than filling them with assumptions. A court filing can explain legal proceedings, but it does not replace the custodian's movement entry or expand ODLS beyond its stated window.

The Boise County release search maps these routes when the current custodian is unknown. Note: Stop the conclusion where the evidence stops.
