No Boise 72-Hour Release Window
No official Boise County or Ada County Jail report lists people released during the prior three days. Boise County contracts with Ada for jail housing, yet the actual destination must still be confirmed for each person. BCSO can possess the arrest, local holding, and transport records. ACSO owns the later booking, movement, and physical release entries when Ada housed the person.
The official Ada page covers current custody only. It updates every 24 hours, warns that recent changes may not appear, and directs users to confirm custody by phone or in person. There is no identified 72-hour tab, URL parameter, release-time column, released-person retention rule, or archive. Three consecutive days of roster absence do not create a legal presumption or identify whether the outcome was community release, transfer, or no Ada booking at all.
Check Boise County Three-Day Releases
Use the wider window to reconcile sources rather than to build a list from names that disappeared. Begin with identity and custody. Record the person's complete name, date of birth, Boise County case or incident number, Ada booking number if known, and every source timestamp. Similar names or a changed spelling can create a false no-match.
- Search the official Ada current-inmate roster and save its displayed update time. A present match suggests current Ada housing as of that refresh, not a release.
- Call Ada County Jail at 208-577-3000. Ask whether the person remains housed, when Ada custody ended, and whether the destination was the community or a receiving agency.
- Call BCSO at 208-392-4411 to establish whether Boise County sent the person to Ada, held the person locally, or used another destination.
- Search Idaho iCourt for the Boise County chronology, order, judgment, bond action, dismissal, commitment, or warrant that may explain legal authority.
- Search IDOC for a state commitment, community supervision, or discharge, and check VINE for a one-person event where the relevant agency participates.
- Request the written jail record when release type, effective time, or destination matters.
For a same-day event that has not crossed the wider period, use the Released Last 24 Hours workflow. Both windows still depend on agency verification.
Boise 72-Hour Record Fields
The table describes the requested release record, not fields on a nonexistent feed. Ask ACSO for these details when Ada physically booked the person. Ask BCSO for local holding and transport details. A “no responsive records” answer may mean the wrong custodian or identifiers were used.
| Requested field | Use in a three-day check |
|---|---|
| Name, DOB, case and booking numbers | Reconciles identity across BCSO, Ada, court, and corrections records. |
| Admission and departure timestamps | Defines the actual jail episode and whether it falls in the selected period. |
| Release authority/type | Identifies the implemented court order, bond, prosecutor instruction, sentence event, or other code. |
| Chronological movements | Shows transport and custody changes that a current roster cannot preserve. |
| Receiving agency/destination | Distinguishes community exit from IDOC, county, federal, or immigration transfer. |
A court record may explain why an exit should occur, but it does not prove the physical exit time. The jail's movement entry controls that fact. Conversely, the jail code should not be expanded into a case outcome that the record does not state.
Boise Weekend Release Checks
A three-day lookback is useful when a weekend or holiday separates an event from the next routine search. Daily roster refreshes can span that interval. Staffing, identification, hold review, property return, notification, and transportation can also separate a judicial event from physical departure. No official Boise or Ada weekend-release schedule was found, so do not invent an automatic Friday, Monday, or holiday rule.
Suppose iCourt records bond activity on Friday and the name is absent Monday. Those facts show a court event and a roster no-match. They do not establish that release occurred on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Call Ada and request the effective time. If a receiving agency is named, the correct conclusion is transfer from Ada custody. If the jail confirms community release, cite that event and its date.
Passing 72 hours adds no public archive. It only gives the daily roster more opportunity to refresh. For older episodes, stop relying on the live roster and move directly to written ACSO and BCSO records, iCourt, and IDOC when state custody or supervision followed.
Why Boise Roster Absence Persists
The contracted jail's roster has a narrow purpose: it shows people currently housed. It cannot state why someone is missing. A person may have been released, transferred, booked under a different name, housed elsewhere, or never booked at Ada. Because Boise County is distinct from the City of Boise and Ada County, geographic name confusion can compound the problem.
The official Ada roster is useful for understanding this current-only scope:
The displayed warning is why the locally correct workflow joins phone confirmation to a written release record. No public released-person retention window was found because there is no released-person list. That is different from claiming the underlying agency record was deleted.
Reconcile Boise Release Channels
iCourt supplies durable legal context. Search the Boise County case chronology for orders, judgment, sentence, time-served credit, probation, commitment, dismissal, or warrant activity. District Court handles felony criminal cases, while Magistrate handles misdemeanor matters. Court material follows Idaho Court Administrative Rule 32, and some documents may require a courthouse kiosk or clerk request. A sealed or shielded matter can limit public results.
IDOC answers a different question. “In custody” after Ada stops listing someone supports a transfer into the state system, subject to matching identity and current timestamps. “In community” plus sentence-level “Released to Supervision” supports state-supervised placement. “Discharged [date]” confirms satisfaction of IDOC jurisdiction, not necessarily the earlier county-jail exit date. Do not relabel parole eligibility, a tentative parole date, or sentence satisfaction as actual release.
VINELink can provide a custody event and future alerts. Idaho VINE's IDOC role is documented, but county participation must be checked live. A release notification ends the reporting custodian's custody and may still accompany transfer. For a federal sentenced person, use BOP. For immigration custody, use ICE's limited current and recent-release search. No single channel certifies freedom from all systems.
Classify Boise Three-Day Outcomes
A court-order release means the jail received legal authority to end that custody, subject to processing and other holds. Bond acceptance can also precede physical exit. Ada policy allows continued holding when intoxication creates risk unless the condition resolves or a responsible adult accepts responsibility. A prosecutor-instruction release should not be translated into dismissal unless the court record supports that result.
Release to another law-enforcement agency is a transfer. State commitment should lead to IDOC checking. A U.S. Marshals handoff may precede a BOP designation. An immigration handoff requires ICE checking. Time served or sentence completion should be supported by the judgment, credit computation, and jail release entry because no official local formula permits an independent date calculation.
- State “released from Ada County Jail” when only that custody exit is known.
- Name the receiving system when the record documents transfer.
- State “not confirmed” when no authoritative channel resolves the outcome.
- Keep the source date and data-current timestamp with each result.
Request Boise Three-Day Records
BCSO Records requires a written and specific request. It will not release record information by telephone, though the sheriff's main line can help identify the holding destination. Give the full name, date of birth, incident or booking number, and date range. Request the arrest, holding, transport, movement, departure time, authority, and receiving agency. Copies require prepayment, and exemptions may affect open-investigation, victim, personal, or fair-trial material.
When Ada booked the person, submit a specific ACSO request for the booking sheet and chronological custody, movement, and release entries. Include the effective date and time, release authority/type, and receiving destination. ACSO offers online and written routes, lists 208-577-3012 for records, says ordinary responses take three to ten business days, and may charge. Request electronic delivery and a cost estimate. If anything is withheld, ask for the statutory basis and separable nonexempt parts.
Use the home page's complete Boise County released-inmate search when the person, facility, or custody system remains uncertain. A multi-day no-match alone should never close the inquiry.
Search Boise Release Records
Use this broader search as a lead, then confirm the exact event through the jail, court, corrections agency, or other named custodian. Preserve system-specific wording.
